San Blas Island Adventures to Colombia

Wow. It's been a pretty long week. Where to begin?

17 hour bus ride from San Jose to Panama City.

2 hour crammed jeep ride to the coast.

1 1/2 hour dingy ride getting soaked to the bone to the "Big Fish", a 43ft sailboat.

3 days island hopping through tropical paradise eating amazing food, meeting interesting people including indigenous Kuna folk, drinking Balboa and rum and cokes, sun bathing to the point of fried skin, snorkeling, kayaking to shipwrecks, napping in my hammock in between palm trees, eating fresh fish caught by the local Kuna, exploring Kuna island communities learning how to make houses and playing basketball with the local kids barefoot on cement, jumping off bridges that connect islands, finding my own personal island about the size of a basketball court, catching fish off the boat and eating within 30 minutes, and thoroughly enjoying life.

2 days and one night (~35 hours) sailing the open ocean to Cartagena, Colombia where I currently reside. I puked a few times along the way but for the most part felt okay. Pretty much napped for the whole voyage which helped a lot. No motion sickness medicine for me although if I were to do it again probably would bring some..either way, this trip was unforgettable and beyond exceeded my expectations. Thank you to captain Sebastian, Hari and Danilla you guys killed it!

Waiting for the dingy ride, rain! Didn't matter though we were about to get wet no matter what.

Couldn't have asked for a better crew

First 5 minutes on the boat and we have fresh fish from the local Kuna

I could get used to this

Island BBQ

Oh yeah did I mention we had dolphins swimming with the boat?

The border

First time eating octopus, can't say it's my favorite but not bad
